Padauk and Carolina Red Spruce Fanned Fret Baritone

  • May 14, 2014

I’m well into a really cool new project, and I thought I would share some shots of the build process. This is an African Padauk and Red (Adirondack) Spruce Baritone guitar with some wonderful features, including arm and ribrest bevels for total comfort, a multiscale (fanned-fret) fingerboard, and custom neck profile.

Part 1 — Rim Assembly

Unfortunately I don’t have any shots of the side-bending process, so we pick up after I’ve bent the sides and attached the neck and tail blocks. You can see the blocking for the arm bevel is glued in as well. Next the solid linings are laminated and glued in place.
